at 400 PM CDT...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression Alex was located near latitude 19.2 north...longitude 90.9 west. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph...15 km/hr. A motion generally toward the northwest is expected for the next couple of days at a slower forward speed. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph...55 km/hr...with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours...and Alex is expected to become a tropical storm again on Monday.
